Even for small scale projects that you are working on yourself, each of the points in the list above are involved. Adding a level of formal structure to your own projects can help you familiarize yourself with these aspects of project management.
Identify the specific requirements of each of your projects. What is the desired outcome?
Establish a Budget for each project you initiate.
Timeline – When do you want it completed? Identify significant stages of your projects, these are your milestones. What will be the output or result achieved at each of these stages. This is the basis of generating the goals of your projects and identifying the milestones that you want to achieve as your work through the project.
