Programming with Python

Python is a general purpose programming language created in the late 1980s. It is named after Monty Python.

Python is a language used by many thousands of people to perform a range of tasks things from analyzing data, powering popular websites, for example, Instagram, or building video games with the PyGame library.

Python is an interpreted language which as a design philosophy that emphasizes code readability For example, using whitespace indentation to delimit code blocks rather than curly brackets or keywords.
Python has a syntax that allows programmers to express concepts in fewer lines of code than might be used in languages such as C++.  
Python is a scripting language like PHP, Perl, Ruby and so much more.
Python can be used for web programming (django, Zope, Google App Engine, and much more). However, it can also be used for desktop applications (Blender 3D, or even for games using the  pygame library mentioned above).

So, Python is a very useful language to learn.
